Deborah Hawksley was born in Singapore. She studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Deborah Hawksley has a wide concert and oratorio repertoire, which has taken her to most of the leading London concert halls, she has performed the Verdi REQUIEM in Peterborough and Guildford Cathedrals, DREAM OF GERONTIUS in Southwark Cathedral, PETITE MESSE SOLENNELLE for Northern Sinfonia. She has been a regular Promenade soloist with the City of London Sinfonia appearing with them in Promenade Concerts in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Hamburg. She recently returned to Berlin for a Promenade concert with the Sudwestfälische Orchester at Neuen Palais in Sanssouci Park, Potsdam.
